During the reconstruction of the scene on canvas, the artist intentionally altered the topographical details to lean into abstraction. Moving away from the literal depiction of the Nordic landscape, the traditional cool blues were replaced with deep, rich, earthy tones, warm burgundies, and organic purples. This deliberate choice infuses the composition with a sense of terrestrial warmth, grounding the ethereal, fiery orange and pink sky that dominates the horizon.
